Get Subtitles

Subtitles?

I have a video file, but the language is spanish without subtitles. Are there any free softwares that can help me add the subtitles in english (or at least, just subtitles in spanish)? What I meant is that are there any software that can just by the sound of the video, they can generate words from what the characters is speaking. Any info can help and I will thank you very much!

1. <geek> What you want is a future technology. This isn't what you want to hear, but speech recognition technology isn't even accurate enough to translate a trained voice to text reliably. When setting up speech recognition software you have to train it to recognise your voice by speaking certain words, that way it can pick up on your pronounciation. So, software to translate an untrained voice from a video to text, is very unlikely at the moment. Sorry.
