Get Subtitles

how can i view english subtitles along with movie in vlc player?

i downloaded a movie from torrent. it doesnt had any english subtitle. so i downloaded subtitle seperately from other sites. i managed to open and play subtitles in vlc player. but there is a delay. subtitles are shown couple of minutes after completion of scenes. how to get both movie and subtitles viewed simultaneously.

1. On the menu bar, go to ''Video">"Subtitles Track">and then "'Open File" to open the subtitles you downloaded,,,,,,,,,,
2. well, you probably downloaded either a subtitle for another version (directors cut, extended version), etc.) of the same movie, or the subtitle is just screwed up. try with another one. www.divxsubtitles.com try that site, make sure to download the correct version of the movie (1 cd, 2 cds, etc.)
