Get Subtitles

How do you get downloaded subtitles to show in windows media player or media player classic?

i have vlc but in some movies the subtitles don't pop up at the right time. I have windows media player and media player classic but i don't know how to make the external subtitles show. pls help

1. if you want to show subtitles in WMP the subtitles file must have extention as *.res or *.txt, the same name as the movie and in the same directory as movie. Now in menu on the top of the player press : Play > Captions and Subtitles > On if Available
2. If the subtitles don't show at the right time, the problem is not the vlc but the subtitle itself and it will happen also with media player. What you have to do is to syncronize the subtitles to adapt them to the video. You can use this link: http://www.subtitlesync.com.ar/
