Get Subtitles

if i download a series with soft subtitles, how do you like join them, make it hard subbed?

im gonna download this show, but the subtitles aren't hard subbed it's like you download the episode and the subtitles for it.. can i like join the sub to it permanently like hard subbed? coz i wanna put it on my ipod.
